Learn more about the right we all have to make our own decisions and direct our own lives. The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities invites you to join us for a FREE informational session about Supported Decision-Making with speakers from Allen County Probate Court, Crime Victim Services, Legal Aid of Western Ohio, and the Allen County Board of DD along with self-advocates. A FREE meal is provided at each session.
Topics will include:
- the process of Supported Decision-Making and how it empowers people to make decisions
- limited guardianship / POA / Health Care POA
- legal considerations of Supported Decision-Making versus guardianship
- resources to help start the process
The event will be on Tuesday November 13, 2018 at Market Street Presbyterian Church in Lima, OH. There will be a session starting at 12:30 pm, and the information will be repeated at 5:30 pm. Each session will include pizza, salad and dessert along with the opportunity to win door prizes.
Care providers will be available for the evening session only. If your child or loved one would like to join us but does not wish to sit through the evening session, please register for 5:30 pm - Supper & Care Provider Needed.
